FAQ

Common questions about signing a business contract

Can any type of business contract be signed electronically?
Most commercial business contracts can be signed electronically under ESIGN and UETA. Exceptions include certain real property deeds, wills and testamentary documents, and documents that governing law specifically requires wet signatures. When in doubt, confirm with your attorney.
What if I need more than two parties to sign a contract?
WoltSign supports multiple signers. Add each party as a separate signer, assign their respective signature fields, and set the signing order. There is no hard limit on the number of signers per document.
Does WoltSign work for international business contracts?
WoltSign collects simple electronic signatures (SES) that satisfy most countries' e-signature laws. For EU transactions that require advanced (AdES) or qualified (QES) signatures, verify the specific requirement with legal counsel before using WoltSign's SES-level signature.
How do I store and find signed contracts later?
All completed contracts are stored in your WoltSign dashboard with their audit trail and certificate of completion. Search by document name, signer name, or date range.
